Florida ASCD President Receives National Award

Jaime Castellano, Florida ASCD President, was named the 2017 Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG) Educator of the Year for his tireless advocacy for the identification and education of low-income and racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse gifted, advanced, and high-ability students. SENG is a world-wide leader in gifted and talented education whose mission is to empower families and communities to guide gifted and talented individuals to reach their goals intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Castellano is a preeminent scholar in the field, an award-winning author and researcher, and a nationally recognized trainer and consultant in gifted education. He received this prestigious award during the annual SENG conference in Chicago in August.
